The Statue of Our Lady of Sorrows

The statue in this entrance represents Our Lady of Sorrows, made of papier mâché in 1890, by Galard et Fils of Marseille. The dagger which is seen piercing the heart of Our Lady is a symbol of the sorrow she endured during the passion of her son Jesus Christ and his death on the cross.
