The Chapel of Saint Joseph

The main painting, completed by Giuseppe Bonnici in 1859, depicts the engagement of Saint Joseph to Saint Mary. The annual feast of Saint Joseph is celebrated on 19 March.

Giuseppe Bonnici also painted in 1866 the righthand artistic work showing the Holy Family resting while fleeing to Egypt.

The work on the left is by Salvatore Barbara, who in 1861 completed the painting depicting the death of Saint Joseph.

In this chapel one can observe beautiful marble memorials commemorating members of the Chetcuti family, who were benefactors of this church.
