For centuries in Malta, as across Europe, people were buried beneath their parish churches, remaining close to the communities they belonged to. These spaces became more than resting places; they became places of remembrance.

Here rest the people of Mosta. We invite you to explore this space with the same care you would wish for someone you loved.

Although this experience is set among tombs, it is not truly about death. It’s about life — and the one thing every life shares: time.

At this first stop, an hourglass marks that passing of time.

Each grain of sand falls silently, reminding us that every moment passes, never to return.

Ars Moriendi means The Art of Dying Well.

Once a guide to facing death with peace, it now invites us to ask a different question:

How do we want to live, knowing our time is limited?
