JUDAS AND COINS

Throughout history, people have reflected on trust, loyalty, and the consequences of the choices we make.

Here we have a small-scale representation of Christ’s encounter with Judas. This is Judas, whose statue appears each year in Mosta’s Good Friday procession.

According to the Gospels, Judas was one of Jesus’ closest followers before betraying him for 30 pieces of silver.

His story invites us to consider how our decisions affect others and shape the person we become.

Ars Moriendi, The Art of Dying Well, was never truly about the final moment.

It was also about the choices, relationships and values that shape the way we live.

And throughout Christian tradition, these values have found powerful expression in symbols of sacrifice, love and self-giving.
